THE LOFT LOUNGE

Fire at the Arcadian Centre On 25 August 2007, it was very sunny and Dim and I looked for a place where we could have lunch in the sun.

As we had a decent sandwich in Green Room recently, we headed for the Arcadian only to find that the whole place is closed with shutters.

We walked around the Arcadian wondering what happened, then we saw many fire engines and fire fighters. Evidently there was a fire in one of the premises (apparently one next to the Green Room) of the Arcadian and that was why the area was cordoned off.

The Loft Lounge Exterior
Desperate, we looked somewhere else to eat in the area (but "please no Chinese" said Dim) and I found this place.

I knew that there was a club here but was not sure if there was food. We discovered that it offers a decent list of food from nibbles to main courses, so we decided to settle here.

Loft Lounge Interior
Interior is spacious and décor stylish. From the outside it is difficult to see, but there are many tables inside and there is even a garden where we can have beer in the sun (unfortunately we discovered it after having finished our lunch).

We ordered two cokes from the bar counter and placed food order and paid.

Chicken Fillet Burger
This is what we had (actually it was only Dim who was eating as I had already had my lunch at home): Chicken brest fillet burger.

It came with a bowl of chips and small quantity of mixed salad. I think we should have had also malt vinegar, but our waiter brought only pepper and two salts, as you see in the photo.

Afterwards we request also mayonnaise, which was promptly provided on a small triangular plate, not in a bag. Nice.
Chicken Fillet and Bacon
The bread was not usual burger bun, but triangular firm bread, which was pretty good.

Inside the burger were a couple of sliced and grilled chicken fillet, one grilled thick bacon and melting cheese, seasoned with either ketchap or BBQ sauce.

Chicken was fairly dry and tasteless as all the battery chichen breast, but it had nice smokey taste and it was nicely supplemented by the steaky beacon.

Price of the burger was £6.95, and together with two cokes, the total bill was £9.95. It is above the price in ordinary pub but was well worth it. We left happy and content.
